Dawn Richard for PYNK Magazine.
[From KOKUMO] My company KOKUMOMEDIA is proud to present T.G.I.F. (Trans, Gender Non-Conforming, Intersex Freedom).
T.G.I.F. is Chicago’s first Trans Pride. T.G.I.F. will take place July 29, 2012 from 12:00 pm until 4: 00 pm at Union Park. The theme this year is: Enterprising From the Margins. We want to explore entrepeneurship and self-advocacy’s role in TGI people of color’s progress.
Our keynote speaker will be the innovative Kylar Broadus of the Trans People of Color Coalition (TPOCC). And our headline performers will be some of Chicago’s brightest in LGBT artists. Deja Taylor, FM Supreme, The Queer Choir and more. If you can please distribute the attached advertisement throughout your constituency as frequently as possible. And I thank you.
Please Signal Boost!
I’m thinking about how I like that it’s called ‘Queer is Community’, how I find relief and belonging and others like me.
I’m thinking about intersectionality, and how we ignore the lines that divide us instead of attempting to bridge them.
I’m thinking about how I can express my gender, how I can come out regularly in joyful ways and see it as a celebration rather than a hindrance, doing creative things, writing, where I want to go, what I want to do.
I’m thinking about how Chicago is nothing like I expected it to be and everything I absolutely needed and an amazing place full of fabulous people who are WORTH FIGHTING FOR. I’m loving the panelists, the writers, the performers, the attendees, the host (who I keep thinking of as a narrator for some reason), the organizations that came, my friends, Soy Quien Soy…
I’m thinking about ableism, and maybe there’s something wrong with me for letting that comment bother me this much, but it does.
I’m thinking about burlesque! FUCK am I thinking about burlesque! I’ve wanted to do it for so long.
I’m thinking about tags, and twitter, and using tumblr and twitter and the tag system to sustain discussions on a more regular basis. Lots of groups use a short tag they can track to talk to one another. I would totally get tweets for this tag sent to my phone… I imagine being able to communicate regularly with the people around me, but at my discretion, and hearing their voices when I might not otherwise get to. Hearing about the things people do daily to survive and help others survive.
I got gorgeous new bloomers from Anastasia Chatzka this weekend and they’re so comfortable and just perfect.
And some new jewelry for super cheap <3
happy and pretty and going to Queer is Community at the Center on Halsted soon. I’m a little nervous cus I think a lot of people are gonna be there + social anxiety hahah but I’m excited because it’s so important and I’ll learn some great things!
I loved the idea of smiling into a bit! And I had mine just a few feet away…
(ps, have you laughed into a bit? it’s ridiculous enough to make you giggle even more)(Submission via Fairysylvan)
I think self-bondage is really sexy and I’m becoming more and more curious about it. @_@
First: HAPPYBDSM IS A SUPER COOL BLOG. I just found it and I’m already in love with it.
Second: Self bondage is a super cool thing to get into! It’s not something I’ve always been able to do, and I’m still working on it (see: that scene in The Secretary where she sadly tries to paddle herself with a hairbrush).
It uses your imagination, your personality, both your submissive and dominant sides. You know your own limits and your own needs and with creativity and taking time, you can have a kinky time all by yourself.
I am my own master :P
lace up your sneakers, your legs, n your thighs, cause you’re about to go on a wild ride
